The SpaceFab OMP330 is our first 3D printer. It uses our patent pending inter-layer laser processing to allow it to print a mix of different metals, ceramics, and plastics all in the same part.
The SpaceFab OMP330 will be less expensive than the lowest priced single metal 3D printer on the market, will have a print volume eight times larger, and will be able to print a mix of up to three different materials with different compositions and melting points. The OMP330 omni-material 3D printer has a closed inert gas print chamber with "all-in-one" processing, and is laser light eye safe. It also contains changeable particulate and VOC (volatile organic chemical) filters. SpaceFab omni-material printers do not need separate de-binding or sintering equipment. All tool changing, de-binding, sintering, and melting is performed inside the printer, saving floor space, labor, and expense. The printing material is filament based, avoiding safety and handling issues of powder material. Some metal 3D printers use binder material that must be chemically removed, which can limit the thickness of a part to only 4 or 5 millimeters, and the infill cannot be less than 100%. The SpaceFab omni-material printers can print with infills from 100% down to 10%, and the part thickness can be as large as the print bed allows. The OMP330 print volume is 17.4 liters with dimensions of 300mm in X, 200 mm in Y, and 290 in Z. |
